Aiko:

Not good enough...it was just never good enough. Aiko's brows furrowed as she adjusted her balancing stick in hand, nimble feet resting upon the end of the rope. Of course, when practicing, it wasn't so high up in the air--it was maybe a couple feet up off the ground so that if she were to fall trying out new tricks, the impact to the ground would be nothing.

The Meowth took a couple of deep inhales and exhales, grey eyes staring intently at the long narrow path before her. She had to come up with some new material...she always felt really unaccomplished when she did the same old tricks over and over again. Sure, they were at different towns in different regions, so it was all new to the people who saw it. To her though, you could teach a cat new tricks. Maybe that saying went another way...oh well.

She took a step back on the rope, holding the stick in two hands and nimbly twisted her form into an aerial cartwheel, just barely catching the rope underneath her feet as she straightened out again. It was almost as though she danced on the rope, which she normally did. It was similar to being on the floor if you had the right balance. Being a cat did help with that. Both her feet stretched out until she was close enough to do a split, then brought all of that weight to the foot in front of her.

The moment she tried to twirl, she stumbled upon the rope and toppled off, barely catching herself before she was to crash to the floor. "Tch...where is your balance, Aiko...?" She asked herself with a slight hiss, standing straight and setting the stick aside. It'd be better to just take a break...maybe she could have a cup of tea or something and relax a bit. No point in trying and trying when she was only growing frustrated more with every attempt.

She exit the tent a few minutes later, dressed down in her casual vest and skirt and legs almost entirely covered in a different pair of garter stockings. Flexing her fingers, the Meowth sighed heavily as she trotted off into the Circus Grounds, intent on finding one of the vendor stations for something sweet to calm her nerves.

Dorian:

He watched her. Watched her dance and flutter upon the rope, her toes barely touching the ground. A heavenly bird with a halo in ringlets of gold that shined when the light caught it just right.

Creamy fur, so sleek and smooth, and silvery diamond eyes. Yes, she was breath taking.

Dorian was enamored.

But this was not the first time he saw her. No. When he first arrived and was confined, all he could do was watch the world through his barred windows. He'd seen very few pass even close to his new living quarters. And then she passed by.

An angel.

When he first saw her, he was positive he had died and was seeing but a glimpse of heaven before the gates of hell swallowed him up. But she was real. So very real.

He'd then went into a frenzy, when she passed on and out of his reach. Ended up dislocating his wrists again.

When he was finally allowed out, he figured he never see the vision again, thus wandered the circus, out of sight and lurking. Then he saw her again...

Dorian studied the direction she was going and decided on his tactic before vanishing. He needed to meet this creature of heaven, after all.

Aiko:

Set up on stand on the other side of the Circus was none other than Yori. No doubt ever since he'd arrived, Aiko had developed a sweet tooth for his items. How could you honestly say no to candy? With a friendly greeting and few moments of talking, she was leaving the stand with a small bag of assorted chews in one hand and a lollipop in the other. So much for tea, it seemed.

There was a small group of girls that seemed to be heading in her direction--two Jumpluffs and a Cherrim. They stopped excitedly in her pathway, little voices talking all at the same time and she smiled, kneeling down to speak with them. Turns out they had been to one of her shows the previous night. The woman's eyes shifted down to the bag of candy...she had planned to take it to Lilly and Wenton, but it wouldn't hurt to share with the other kids too.

Well, it had certainly uplifted her mood, especially as she watched them wave goodbye with thanks and happy smiles on their cute faces before departing with their parents. Yes, this was nice...children always did wonders to her mood.

Evan was probably busy...she'd almost thought about going to visit him. He'd only pick on her and make some stupid joke about falling off the rope though, she was sure. Time to detour back to the train--she could sit down for a while and think about practice another time.

Teeth chewing hastily on the lollipop in her mouth, Aiko wandered back towards the train and hopped up the steps, casually climbing her way up to the top to watch the sky. It was such a nice day, after all. She wasn't about to sulk in her room.

Dorian:

"I do hope you are not planning to ascend to heaven at this moment, my good miss." A mysterious voice spoke up from behind her.

Dorian was perched right behind the meowth, back to back, bouncing his leg up and down like a pendulum. How he got there, without her hearing him, was a mystery.

Aiko:

Aiko's ears sprung up the moment she heard the voice behind her. Surprise etched on her face, she hurriedly spun around to face the back of...an unfamiliar man. How in the world did he get so close without her hearing him? She was suddenly uneasy and her heart was racing, not realizing that in her surprise, she had cracked the lollipop between her teeth and it had broken apart in her mouth. Well damn--

She reached up to pull the stick from her mouth, quietly chewing the candy and swallowing before she responded, not at all remembering what it was he had even said. "People here have a knack for popping up out of nowhere, don't they?" Keeping her tone casual, she slowly shifted a little off to the side so he wasn't so close. "I take it you are new? I haven't seen you around." There had been a number of new people to join the Circus and she had seen all faces except for this one. She still couldn't see his face since his back was turned to her...but it wasn't hard to tell what he was, merely by the shape of his form and...oddly enough, the distinct smell. Wasn't hard for a cat to recognize another cat.

Dorian:

The Luxray chuckled a bit, tilting his head from side to side. "Indeed? Why how magical! But alas, incorrect, my dear. For you see, I easily climbed the train at another ladder, saw you, and took a seat behind to observe what you were observing. And as far as I can see, it is the sky. A usual indication of longing for other places, memories long forgotten, or wishes that are out of reach."

Turning his head, the mon looked at her with his gold and red eyes, with a smile on his face and pince-nez twinkling back at her.

Aiko:

The Meowth paused as she stared at this male, completely new to her but somehow familiar...just a glance at him and the way he spoke reminded her of someone...well, a couple of others, but she wouldn't go there. Now that she could see his face, the tension in her form was slowly beginning to dissipate. "Oh? That's going rather far, is it not? I mean, as far as I know, any wishes I've had are long forgotten themselves. And while it'd be nice to step out of this Circus, I couldn't really imagine anywhere else to go other than here after being here for such a long time."

She ceased her babbling and turned back to the sky, gaze shifting along the clouds that painted the empty blue space. "I was just trying to forget about my practice today. Doesn't do good to let yourself get frustrated, after all."

Her tail flicked back and forth, tapping against the roof as she leaned back on her hands and let her gaze shift to the Luxray again. "Pardon me. My name is Aiko. Aiko Lynn. If you are one of our new employees, it's only proper that I know your name as well, right?" He WAS one of the newbies, right? Why else would he come anywhere near the train--and with so few guests visiting the Circus this early, it was only plausible.

Dorian:

The Luxray stood at this moment, turning to her and giving a full bow. "Indeed it is, my lady. Forgive my rudeness. I am Dorian Van Bösartig. Please call me Dorian."

His eyes gave her a bemused glint. "I understand about frustration, madam.... indeed I do." His tail flicked slightly.

"But I digress. I am the new toy maker and provider of prizes for the game booths. Yet it seems many here all ready make their own prizes. Not to be rude of my fellow compere, but some of them are not that up to standards as they should be. Then again, I am a perfectionist. Much like you, madam Aiko."

Aiko:

She knew it. He definitely reminded her of a certain few people...smashed all together into one person. It made her feel rather disoriented, but at least she was familiar with the courtesy of the man and his actions. She rose to her feet as well, only bowing her head slightly in a means of being polite. Roger had told her it wasn't entirely required to be proper...and that was something she was still trying to get used to.

"Oh? A toy maker, you say?" Her ears perked up almost immediately. Of course, being the motherly figure that she was, that idea only made her think of possibly getting her hands on something for the two little rascals she considered her own kids at this point. No...it wouldn't be polite to ask for those right off the bat. Maybe a little later on, she could request them...or win them, whatever he preferred honestly. "That's really fascinating. I can assure you, once you've managed to get the attention of the people at the booths, you won't have much problem. It'll be nice to have something fresh and new, considering our stock of err....prizes has been repetitive the last couple of years. I agree they've become rather stale."

They only really had new prizes when newer things were created. She paused, her own tail flipping from side to side as she looked over the Circus. "We don't exactly have toy makers to make things here, so I'm sure that you'll become rather popular around here soon. I'd love to see some of your toys in everyone's booths." Her eyes met his briefly when she recalled the last thing he'd said. "Do you know I'm a perfectionist just by looking at me? How can you tell?"

Dorian:

Dorian gave a rather coy smile. He loved the way her hair flowed, when a wisp of breeze caught it. His claws twitched in longing to touch the golden crown.

"My dear, it is not a matter of simply looking at one to know, it is a matter of paying attention." Turning about, he casually wandered about the roof of the train. "For one, your pawed feet looked rather worn, obviously from constant repetitive actions, such as a dancer would have. But unlike a dancer's the sides of your feet have been scraped and rubbed from coarse ropes and wires, along with the way you kept putting weight on one foot, meaning your more stronger one has been rubbed raw. Most would rest then try again, but you demand more of yourself thus push yourself beyond limits."

Making an about face, he continues on, his hands clasped tightly behind his back. "Next is the atmosphere you are giving off. Your tail flicks at the end, and any fellow feline knows when another is agitated about something. But it is meager swishes, so an inward problem, since an outer one would make a tail whip, unless more control is taken. Also your fur bristles at certain points and your left ear flicks.

"Now we shall move along to other points. You sought after sugared treats, since they give a soothing effect. You sought solitude, to be deep in thought, though you may prefer to be alone. Buuuut, that might be only half true since you doted on those children earlier. Then the gazing into the sky, as I said, a longing of a wish, or to forget. And then last, but not least, you spoke of being frustrated."

Dorian cocked his head and waggled a finger at her. "Now frustrated is a term mainly those with personal gains and losses would use. As it means, feeling or expressing distress and annoyance, especially because of inability to change or achieve something, as the dictionary would say. Most would say irritated, or upset. But you said frustrated, so that means you did not achieve something. So putting all these facts together, the constant wear of the body, the inward wanting of isolation, the sugared sweets. You, my dear, demand only the best of yourself, no matter the self cost. And that makes you a perfectionist."

At the end of his explanation, he gave a deep bow.

Aiko:

Though she was anticipating an explanation, the cat wasn't expecting one so...thorough. In fact, as he spoke, the expression on her face seemed to get more discomforting. Eyes slowly widening, the muscles in her form tensed up once again. Her eyes shifted down to her paws and then back up to Dorian's face as he continued to speak. She couldn't believe it--it was like he was reading her like a book. At the same time, he was noting things that he wouldn't have even seen unless he'd been watching her this whole time...the way she walked, the actions she performed almost unconsciously when she was feeling a certain way, even the children she had been chatting with earlier. Exactly how long had this guy been following her?

When he'd finally finished talking and her conscious was warning her that she was feeling personally violated in some way, she pursed her lips and rose a brow. "Well....never thought I'd hear all of that. You must really pay attention to your surroundings if you're able to read me like that." Feeling as though she should simply dismiss herself and leave, Aiko turned away from the Luxray.

She was suddenly starting to feel more disturbed being this close to him--he wasn't giving off any real dangerous vibes--at least not yet--it was just the realization of potentially being stalked that made her want to leave. "Impressive as it is, I don't appreciate being...followed and observed like that. Especially from someone I've yet to meet until now. If you wish to be in my presence, you merely have to introduce yourself...I don't think many here take kindly to such things."

Shifting uncomfortably, she glanced back at him with the irritation clear on her face and shook her head, brushing her hair over one shoulder. She didn't want to look him in the eye at all--as she did, she'd probably feel more uneasy than she already was. But her point wouldn't go across if she was shying away from him like some frightened damsel. Those nervous fingers in her hair was enough of a giveaway. "Don't do that anymore. A lady likes her privacy, you know."

Dorian:

Nodding his head, Dorian gave a low bow. "I apologize, madam. I do not mean to discomfort you, in any way. It is just, I prefer meeting individuals in less crowded areas. And as for the observing, it is an unfortunate trait, in my kind. Our eyes are sharp and take in details in a flash, sometimes even causing migraines in the more sensitive. But I utilize these same traits in my art. Not a stitch or blemish go unnoticed in my work. I suppose it is a compulsive trait I have. I also use those around me to inspire. In fact-"

Dorian stalled, his head snapping up and peering intently at her. "No... No you can't be..." Taking quick strides he was suddenly before her eyes, gazing at her with such intent it was like nothing else in the world was there.

His ferocious eyes glinted and flashed, then he turned away, shaking his head.

"Not possible... not possible..." he continued to mutter.

Aiko:

Well, it made sense when he said it...but it didn't make her feel any less violated in some way. Not that she'd say that out loud. What exactly did it all mean, though? If he used others to inspire, he must have made dolls based on them...did he make mons in doll form? It was impressive, she had to admit yet again. It was when he froze that her expression once more became startled and confused and he was suddenly in her face within seconds.

Immediately, her chest tightened and her feet forced her to take a couple steps back, just nearly coming short of stepping over the edge of the train. He was so close to her that she thought her heart was going to cease beating. It took most of her willpower not to lash out at him in surprise, voice somewhat straggled in her throat as she dryly swallowed. He wasn't even touching her, yet she could feel that annoying phobia gnawing at her insides.

Yet, he wasn't doing anything. Just...staring at her. Staring at her eyes, as though trying to find something there. And she was frozen in place as he did--almost certain if he moved any closer, she'd probably shove him or throw him off the train. Then he finally turned away and she let out the held gasp of air that had been locked in her chest.

There was no doubt she was curious about what in the world this man was talking about. Why had he been looking at her so intently? "Wh-What's...what's not possible? What are you going on about?" Forget it...she just wanted to leave now. "Ah...nevermind. I'm...just going to go now. Let's erm...talk some other time, yes?"

Dorian:

Coming out of his daze, Dorian looked at the feline and smiled a toothy smile. "As you wish, my good miss."

Turning to leave, he stopped for only a moment and turned to her again. "Try finding the point at the balls of your feet. Will make pivots and balance come easier." With a bow, the odd man jumped off the train and was gone.

But not for long.

Aiko:

Honestly, she wasn't expecting him to leave so...easily. It was relieving for her, heaving in a breath as he bid her goodbye and disappeared. How strange...he wasn't the first Mon in this circus that she found extremely creepy in some way, but...she'd never felt so uncomfortable under such a burning stare. It made her wonder exactly what it was Dorian was questioning right before she'd made it clear that she didn't feel very relaxed around him. For him to close into her personal space that quickly...just remembering it made her spine tingle with a shiver.

He was gone now, though. At least for now until she would run into him again. It was only obvious considering he was a part of the circus now. Chewing at her lower lip, Aiko slowly jumped off the train and departed into her own room for the rest of the day.

I'm separating them because they are kind of long and it's basically two different rps.

Dorian is a very sly cat. Aiko doesn't particularly enjoy his company at the moment |D
