Also referred to as tightrope walking, Aiko performs in the numerous shows that are held each night. On normal occasions, she will perform at a height of nearly 30 feet and go up as high as 50 given her working space for their performance. The acts not only include the high wire, but the tight wire as well, where objects are brought onto the tiny field or the performer dances their way through the show. While she has the balance and stealth of her species, Aiko sometimes uses a pole to help train her balance and keep her from tipping over.

Tightrope Balance
Due to her lack of social connections and only being able to interact with Mons after her shows, Aiko has picked up a second job! Because her skills don't run very far (as she's been doing tightrope/wire walking for over a century), she's started another job in the Atelier faction challenging folks in various games that requires them to walk across a tightrope themselves. Challenges such as walking the entirety of the rope, balancing for a specified amount of time, etc. Truthfully, Aiko took up this job as a way to spend more time around children rather than Mons in general as a lot of her young fans always seemed so fascinated and wanted to try. She also uses the game as a way to teach and show how she does it.

Personality
Others see Aiko as fairly carefree and friendly with everyone she meets. However, it is really not the case. Due to excessive and copious amounts of deceit, abuse, and hiding, she lacks trust in anyone she meets. The smile on her face is usually fake and her friendliness is just a ploy to keep others from knowing exactly what she feels and how she's thinking. For years, she played innocent and casual behind a mask if all to protect her own sanity. Most of her distrust lies solely in men, though she has met many women in her life that were as cruel and demented as the men had been. She's very observant, having met hundreds of different personalities during her time in the brothel, a few meetings with someone can help her perceive the kind of mon they are. Of course, she has no superpowers. She can't read everyone, nor can she always tell if they are hiding behind a facade the way she is a majority of the time.
Aiko's heart is not as dark as her thoughts and she doesn't think better or highly of herself at all, but she does a good job of hiding the fact from many others that she can be far less kind than she usually is. If you happen to befriend her and gain her trust, you may never see a difference in the way she acts towards you, even though she may hold you closer rather than keep you at a distance.
When it comes to the feelings of others, Aiko tends to flip-flop between sentiment and harsh reality. It truly depends on the situation and who she is dealing with. Sometimes she won't realize that things she may say will hurt another or they won't take it as well as she might hope for. But she is not afraid of speaking her mind in a given situation. If she doesn't like you, she'll make it pretty clear. Considering the image she tries to keep up, she tends to avoid the more ill-tempered characters she's seen in the circus that may cause her problems.
Aiko's usual personality is completely genuine when she is around children. Growing up back when she was still living with her foster Mother, she'd gathered the trait that made her enjoy the company of those that were far younger and full of energy. After a horrific four years in the brothel, her tenderness towards children had only grown. Their innocence, obliviousness, their hearts of gold--the realization that they were still little lights in a very dark world--that they were not corrupted. There is not a child Aiko could ever turn away from, merely because of her own guilt and jealousy of losing what she once was before.

- Evan's death left her hollow for a short while--but she knew there was nothing she could have done to prevent the tragedy. Because of him, Aiko has allowed herself to stop masking herself from others as much as she was used to doing. While she still lacks trust in most, she's somewhat changed her idealistic view on how to live what life she has left. Though she is still struggling to keep herself together, she's learned to let go of the past and face whatever is to come in the future.

History & Wish
"Please get me out of here. Away from this horrid place. How...how can I get away...?! I don't want their hands on me anymore!"

Aiko had no memory of her life up to her 8th year--nobody even knew where she had come from. Wandering the woods on her own, the young kitten had been picked up by two kind women and taken to refuge in a rather lively building that she would soon begin to call her home. This was what the local folk would call a geisha house.

She knew of her old name--Charlotte was her name--and the women would call her as so. For the couple years she lived there, Charlotte had learned the ways of the Geisha, their entertainment purposes, their ceremonies. She was the house's pick-up girl, but most of the Geisha women were fond of the child and taught her much of their cultured practices. She was a tiny little kitten with an active imagination and high-spirited energy. Unfortunately for the house, money became scarce and they could no longer afford to keep it up and productive. Most of the females were relocated or lost their home to go traveling in hopes for new places. Charlotte was one of the latter group, leaving the Meowth alone and rendered a homeless orphan. At such a young age--only 12 to be specific--she found it difficult to find work and would often go a couple days without food sometimes. Slowly, her health began to deteriorate, from both poor nourishment and a weak mentality. Not for very long did she suffer though. A medicine woman, a Leavanny, by the name of Lena Walski came across young Charlotte huddled away near an abandoned home shack. This woman and her family of 3 would become the kitten's new caretaker and the one who gave her a new adopted name--Aiko Lynn. For the sake of starting her life over and hopefully starting it better, she convinced Lena she did not remember her name in order to gain the new one, though she would never forget her old name.

5 years passed and Aiko had grown into a beautiful feline. Lena had become somewhat of a new mother figure to her and she would often help out the medicine woman with her patients. This life had been so pleasant to her, she was never expecting anything to go wrong. But she had thought far too positively. Similar to what had happened with the Geisha house, Lena had begun to struggle indefinitely. She could hardly feed them, let alone keep them warm during the cold nights. It was painful to see the woman suffer, even as she was. Aiko decided to take up her own job in another village. Lena had been hesitant to let the child go, but considering her urgency and Aiko's demanding to let her, she reluctantly agreed. This was where her nightmares had really begun.

In this small village, everything seemed as normally similar as what she had back home. The house she worked in even felt the same as the Geisha house. What she had not known however, was she had been schemed into a whore house. After merely a month of working as a simple cleaning girl, Aiko, at only the age of 17 was forced into objectified prostitution. The entire process was devastating. The Meowth wasn't entirely certain how to mentally handle her situation--but soon as she had realized just how much money she was able to make off of such a job to send to her caretaker, that she was fed well and kept healthy and alive, she slowly began to accept this way of life. As long as she could keep Lena from struggling and she had somewhere that took care of her, she would do anything.

4 more long years passed, at 21 Aiko had become a natural regular with utmost privileges. She was favored by the younger recruits and their bosses and having been there so long, she had been making the best of profits for their home. However, after attempting to be released long enough to go visit Lena, she had received the devastating news that the woman had perished long before. The money she had been making specifically to care for her family back home had been going into the greedy pockets of her boss. Enraged and full of grief, the Meowth stormed out of the building with pain and hate riveting through her heart.

In the midst of her long walk that night, the announcements of an incoming circus came to Aiko's attention. A circus...she remembered something distinctly from her former years. Lena had promised to take her to a circus the next time one rolled into town. Up until now, she still had never seen one before. She didn't plan on going. But she was drawn to it. It beckoned her like nothing ever had before. And before she knew it, she was within the rowdy crowd of people pushing and shoving for a chance to play the games or see the performers. Forcing herself out of the bustling crowds, Aiko managed to find a quieter area of the circus and took a seat on the bench. Her eyes would skim her surroundings while the solemn look upon her face shifted to a weak smile. She just felt lost and buried in heavy despair. Her skin felt like it had been falsely tormented. "I'm so sorry, Mama...I'm sorry." Her head lowered and she felt like crying. A very quiet and smooth voice reached her ears, making them prick up instantly. A gentle hand laid to rest on her head and she jerked madly away from him, her hands coming up to wrap around her own arms. She turned her head upward to the dark-looking man standing next to her with wide eyes.

"Such a sad...sad child you are. Do tell me...what is making your heart so dark?" She shouldn't talk to strangers...but it didn't hurt to answer his question.

"I..." Little did she know, he would grant her wish... "It was...all for nothing. All those years I spent pretending and letting those disgusting monsters touch me...for nothing. I...Please. Get me out of here. Away from this horrid place. How...how can I get away...?! I don't want their hands on me anymore!" At her words, a gloved hand reached out to her, a sinister smile on that face.

"Come with me, Miss Charlotte...your wish will be granted." With hesitance, Aiko slowly reached out for that awaiting hand, the darkness pulling at her strings tempting her to do so. As she grasped his hand however...she felt hear fear rising, her body shaking...but thought nothing of it. Now that she had allowed Mr. Dark to drag her into the Circus, she had once more become someone of a new home. The Meowth decided to work in the performing arts, since she had been taught many of things back when she was a kitten, and picked up on Tightrope walking as her Circus profession. However, she developed a case of haphephobia and no longer can physically be touched other men and some women without being fearful. It's always tolerable especially if she is in control of any contact, but sensual intimacy is something she absolutely can't do without panicking. Mr. Dark didn't erase the memories she had back in the brothel, in fact he had made it worse, knowing full well Aiko could never fully escape the life she once lived. The horrid feeling still remains upon her as part of her curse and is often triggered by touch, most often if someone were to do so without her permission at all. As long as she remains in the Circus, physical contact is bearable, but still extremely unpleasant. If she were to leave the Circus, her fear would slowly swallow her whole. She would ultimately lose herself and be unable to be around other Mons without being afraid of someone touching her. It will get so bad, she'll have panic attacks and lose the ability to function.

It took a couple decades before Aiko realized exactly what this circus was. New members of the circus would come in every town they stopped in. All of them dragged in, tricked, and thieved of their lives. To atone for whatever sins she felt she was committing, she spent her extra time helping others and tending to children that visited the circus--some of which became victims of Mr. Dark's wish-granting as well.

Also, because this is sort of a 'new' Aiko, if we have rped and we've only done one or two rps, we can start over from the beginning ;w; Or we can continue with them knowing each other. I don't mind either way <3
